Intersectionality and Climate at the crossroads

December 13th experts from UNFCCC’s Women and Gender Constituency, the European Disability Forum, Open University and MenAlive Australia will explore how to address intersecting inequalities in Belgian climate and energy policies, both looking at emission reductions and addressing impacts of climate change. The event is co-organized by the Climate Coalition, Women Engage for a Common Future Netherlands and Oxfam Belgium. The event will take place in English, French, Dutch. Interpretation available (sign interpretation upon request) – Registration required: French – Dutch.

9:00 – 9:30     Registration

9:30-9:40      Introduction by Benjamin Clarysse, president of the Climate Coalition.

9:40-11:00    Panel discussion, moderated by Nadia Cornejo, vice-president of the Climate Coalition, and general campaigner with Greenpeace Belgium.

  1. Cathy Yitong Li – new UNFCCC TEC brief on gender-responsive technology and infrastructure for sustainable urban mobility 
  2. Li Nadia Haddad – intersection between gender, disability rights and climate/environmental justice
  3. Philsan Osman – author of the book “Who do we want to care for? Ecofeminism as inspiration”
  4. Paul Pulé – author of the book Men, Masculinities, and Earth: Contending with the (m)Anthropocene
